Mathias Goldsam was born in San Francisco on June 13, 1887. Mayme Sutherland was born in Mendocino on June 13, 1890. They were married in San Francisco on July 9, 1919. For over 20 years, Mathias and Mayme ran a bakery in Mendocino. After his retirement from the bakery, Mathias went to work at the Ralph Sutherland Garage on Main Street in Mendocino. Mathias and Mayme had three children, Ralph, Florence Amelia (House) and June Estelle (Conroy). They are buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Mendocino.
