Dennis Bromley was born in 1820 in New York. Making his way to California and then to the Mendocino coast, he worked as a wheelwright for the Caspar Lumber Company. His first wife, Jane Wilson Bromley, died after only four years of marriage. He married a second time to Amanda (maiden name unknown). Amanda died in 1893 and Dennis died in 1895. Both are buried in the Caspar Cemetery.

One page biography of John Aaronen. (Aaron) Aaronen boarded a ship in Finland, bound for California, in the year 1875. He was headed for Caspar on the Mendocino Coast, where he heard that he would be able to find work with the Caspar Lumber Company. He sent for a girl he was engaged to back in Finland and married her in San Francisco in 1880. In 1882, they had a daughter whom they named Lizzie (Stevenson). At some point in time, Aaronen shortened his name to Aaron. The Aarons lived in Caspar and then Noyo Hill. They sold their property on Noyo Hill to the Fort Bragg Redwood Company and with the money, Aaron built a hotel in Fort Bragg which he called , "The Scandinavian Hotel." The Scandina

A transcription of an interview with Clarence John Anderson, from Caspar, dated January 11, 1987. Clarence was known throughout his lifetime as "Pat Anderson." Clarence Anderson was born in Caspar on September 5, 1908. His mother was Tillie Smith Anderson and his father was John Anderson. John Anderson, a native of Finland, was originally a Nikkola but changed his name once he got to America because it was too hard to pronounce. John worked in logging but later bought into the hotel business and owned a saloon. He went back to work at the Caspar Lumber mill and eventually retired.
