Map of the town of Cuffey's Cove in Mendocino County,California. This hand-drawn map on onionskin paper was probably taken from an original map that was created in 1876. A notation at the left bottom states that it was recorded April 11, 1876 in Book/Misc Records page 296. Surveyed by H. Savage. The map shows streets with names, width measurements and North-South and East- West degrees. Lots are shown and numbered with width measurements and location of certain residents. Notation at the top right sates: "Front and West Street on line of present County Road.

2016-001-003 - Ledger

Coroner's's inquiry ledger created by C.M. Walker, Acting Coroner and Justice of the Peace for Mendocino County. The ledger is a transcript of inquiries, by jury, of the death of individuals, with description of the death and witness testimony of the accident/death. Many deaths were from logging accidents and drownings. Several were deaths of infants and some deaths were attributed to old age. Several pages have marriages recorded from 1907 - 1911. One page is a report of the autopsy of the body of Dan Grady dated January 2, 1915. Grady died under suspicious circumstances from a fractured skull. Inside cover has Oath of Jury and Oath of Witness written.
