Summary Oral Interview with Mendocino local resident, Ed O'Brien by Kelley House Director, Rob Fowler.
Ed describes his experiences growing up in the military, objecting to the Vietnam War and arriving in Mendocino, in 1970, on his way to Canada to avoid the draft. Ed talks about the counterculture movement in Mendocino at that time and his decision to buy the Compass Rose, which he still owns and operates.
This interview was a special oral history project aimed at interviewing Mendocino's longtime citizens.
