Summary Nannie Flood Escola was a member of a pioneer Mendocino family, a mother, grandmother, a teacher and a historian. She made notes on history on the back of surplus school worksheets, assembled notebooks and collected photographs. Her interests in maritime history kept her in correspondence with the Maritime Museum in San Francisco and with people all over the world.
In this Sunday Afternoon program, two of Nannie's granddaughters and three of her great-granddaughters come together at the Kelley House to share stories of Nannie. Bruce Levene, a fellow historian, presents a photo montage of some of Nannie"s extensive collection along with an audio of a1971 interview of Nannie with Donald Nelson.
