The story begins with two Italian immigrants, Pietro Piccolotto from Carpano, Trevisa and Rosa Vagliana from Porto, making their way through Ellis Island, New York and meeting in Fort Bragg, California. They sought a better life for themselves and an education for their future children.
The two married, Piccolotto became Piccolotti, children were born and the family worked a ranch up Big River in Mendocino.
This book is the story of Alice Piccolotti Ivec, the youngest of eight children, growing up on the Piccolotti Ranch during the Depression and life on the Mendocino Coast before and after World War II.
