View of the back side of Mendocino Grammar School on the corner of School and Pine Streets. This shows a rare view of the 5000 gallon water tank. Architect was Ivan Satterlee of Davis - Peace Company of Stockton, California.
People in the Mendocino School District were asked to vote on a school bond to cover the cost of the school. A vote was held, and passed, on Monday March 3, 1930, on the proposition to bond the district for $18,500 to build the new school. The previous school was destroyed by fire the year before.
