Caption James Relmond Smith and Dragsaw
Description James Relmond Smith and a dragsaw, which appears to have been powered by gasoline. According to the Mendocino Coast Model Railroad and Historical Society, dragsaws were the first powered saws used in logging. The earliest models were steam powered, using a donkey engine. Smith's identification is from the back of the photograph.
